Gerald Elliott posted a job: Compliance Officer- OFAC New York, NY "Top-tier investment bank seeks an OFAC Compliance Officer who will manage blocked/rejected transactions reporting submissions, includes overseeing and validating reporting process and coordinating with the firm’s business/reporting units globally to ensure timely reporting to the U.S. Department of the Treasury's Office of Foreign Asset Control (OFAC); Evaluation of reject monitoring process and discussions with other compliance units on applicable relationships requiring AML enhanced due diligence. Other responsibilities include: • Advise the firm’s businesses with real-time or in-process transactions (e.g., funds transfers, account opening) to ensure strict compliance with U.S. sanctions regulations and internal Policy; • Drive the information gathering process across various businesses to respond and draft administrative subpoenas and file self-disclosures to OFAC, providing guidance on and documenting remediation efforts related to any compliance policy gaps identified or breaches; • Liaise with the firm’s Sanctions Legal General Counsel to apply for specific license applications with OFAC, includes gathering information with businesses and compliance counterparts and drafting detailed applications; Interface with legal and support Sanctions Policy & Implementation head on relevant regulations matters requiring corporate policy interpretations/amendments. • Manage the issuance of Compliance Notices related to OFAC SDN list updates, sanctions programs updates (In coordination with Sanctions Legal), and other relevant Global Sanctions Compliance communications; • Develop Global Sanctions Compliance procedures and guidance documents to enhance efficiencies and provide clarity on critical sanctions matters, in coordination with Sanctions Policy & Implementation head • Assist the Chief Sanctions Officer in strategic initiatives related to policy advisory, policy implementation, product risk assessments, enterprise-wide risk assessments, training and communications, and sanctions intelligence; and • Review and make recommendations to the Chief Sanctions Officer with respect to any weaknesses to the sanctions compliance program functions, includes framing issues for group discussions, liaising with the Business/Sector/Regional Compliance, Business, Operations, and Technology counterparts globally Qualifications: • 5 + years of experience in banking compliance, legal or other control-related function in the financial services industry; • Extensive knowledge and expertise of AML and Sanctions regulations, risks and typologies; • Experience in the design and implementation of procedures • Experience with and previous exposure to banking and AML internal control functions and regulators within the US; To apply please submit your resume to Info@compliancesearch.com" |
