Role based in Hamburg, Germany. Key Skills: - Fluent English or German. - Several years’ proven experience in the conception and implementation of complex, highly available e-business platforms as well as Internet applications in a Java environment. - Internet related high availability experience. - Excellent and proven knowledge of Agile software development processes (i.e. SCRUM, Kanban). - A recognised expert in the area of Software Engineering. - A proven track record in building and leading development teams. - Experience of working on international projects with international stakeholders, staff and partners. - A willingness to relocate and work in Hamburg, Germany. Desirable is: - International project management experience – especially delivery of software projects to B2B and/or business to government. About the Role: The Head of Development’s responsibilities will be split into three areas; organisational development / change management / strategy, management responsibility and project implementation and management. Your tasks include: - Ensuring sustainable, state of the art software development. - Defining and operationalizing vision and strategy for the development area. - Functional and line management responsibility for about 20 staff. - Coaching technical leads in the areas of leadership and people development. - Defining Agile development processes and roles (SCRUM, Kanban). - Project and resource planning.
