They operate worldwide, employ in excess of 100,000 staff and are a Fortune 500 company. McKenzie Douglas is working with this organisation to find a new Regional Head of Legal / Legal Manager to head their team based out of Jakarta. The role will oversee this companies East Asia region and manage a small team of lawyers. For consideration, it is very important applicants fulfill the following criteria so please consider this before applying; • You must possess a Law Degree and be admitted to practice • Candidates will ideally have between 8 – 12 years of post qualification experience* • You must have experience of the energy / engineering industry in East Asia – ideally coming from an in-house background with a comparable organisation • You must have management experience • You must have a demonstrable track record of big ticket transactional / project experience for the energy industry in the region • Ideally you will also have experience of compliance, litigation / dispute management, risk management, corporate, property and employment matters • You must be familiar with local business culture and practices, so it is likely you will already be in the region, or have been based there in the past • English is mandatory, Bahasa is highly desirable, other East Asian languages will be beneficial • You must be prepared to travel frequently around East Asia The successful applicant will enjoy a senior, international remit, be involved with big ticket projects and have excellent progression prospects.
