He will act as co-pilot for the business Managing Director, supporting him in developing the business and achieving business and financial targets. OBJECTIVES AND RESPONSIBILTIES 1. Provide support for business strategy development and execution • Support development of AOP, Strategic Plan and Capital Plan • Provide analytical and planning support in the development and achievement of performance targets 2. Proactively lead performance management • Track business performance against targets • Clearly articulate operating performance in reporting and forecasts • Recommend contingency plans 3. Provide financial services to the front-line • Support strategic and trade/channel initiatives with detailed analysis • Prepare capital investment analysis • Drive Continuous improvement in delivery of financial services 4. Provide financial stewardship of assets and operations • Safeguard Company assets with prudent balance sheet management • Satisfy legal, tax accounting, corporate governance requirements • Establish strong internal control environment 5. Transfer and build operating capability • Support business in the transfer of Best practices tools • Work with the MDs to help identify system inefficiencies • Liaise with the Head Office on tool development • Flex resources according to needs of the businesses 6. Strengthen and leverage the organisation • Staff on board, train and retain high caliber finance talent • Clarify roles, set performance standard and goals, and coach staff around the core work • Implement performance/development plan • Work on own performance/development objectives 7. Consolidate at the end of the year all the accounts REQUIREMENTS: • Tertiary Accounting degree from a recognized accounting institution; • CA (Chartered Accountant); • At least 4 – 5 years working experience; • Be fluent in English; • Have experience working with African countries and come from a strong FMCG background preferably with experience in distribution and/or manufacturing; • Be willing and able to live and work in Nigeria; • Seasoned experience as an expat; Salary & Benefits Salary for this position is extremely competitive earning US dollars net.
