Merchandise Planners in Houston, TX Merchandise Planner Department: Planning and Allocation Reports To: VP of Planning and Allocation SUMMARY Responsible for identifying business risks and opportunities to maximize sales, profitability and inventory turn objectives. Works closely with the Buying and Allocation teams to develop and review assortment plans and manage OTB strategies. Responsible for spearheading key departmental and divisional analysis to improve accuracy, productivity and profitability, including sku plans and productivity measures, class/category and style investments, regional, climate and special store groups, markdown optimization, assortment opportunities and regional investment. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Other duties may be assigned. • Develop, execute and communicate merchandise financial plans that support the merchandising and financial objectives of one or more departments. • Analyze historical data and current trends to identify risks and opportunities • Recap and analyze actual sales results to plan; forecast in-season sales and inventory on a weekly, monthly, and quarterly basis. • Own Open to Buy forecasts • Develop unit key item plans • Review and recommend items for markdown (Slow turning or aged) • Assist in the training of new Allocators • Support a collaborative, innovative, and results-oriented environment with peers • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with members of all areas (Merchandising, Marketing, Store Operation, and Accounting) QUALIFICATIONS • Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Business, Fashion Merchandising or other related field. • Must have 3+ years experience as a Merchandise Planner with a medium to a large size retailer • Must have a clear understanding of basic financial measures: Sales, Turn, Gross Margin, Weeks on Hand/weeks of supply, and how to maximize them • Strong analytical, organizational and communication skills • Must be able to clearly present and support business strategies as well as takes ownership to drive profitability of department and how it impacts the total business • Computer skills to include navigational ability in a networked environment and proficiency in Microsoft Word and email applications; intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft Excel • Proven ability to build productive cross-functional relationships • Experience working both independently and in a team oriented environment http://bull.hn/l/82VM/5" |

Duties include; provisioning, implementation / integration, standards / governance, patch management, monitoring, support, root cause analysis and performance tuning. • Provides “customer focused” support of all UNIX servers environments, PROD, QA, Integration and development. • Consults with senior engineers while working with applications teams to troubleshoot complex problems, providing root cause analysis and remediation to mitigate future risk. • Performs strategic analysis and design of UNIX server infrastructure and makes recommendations on improvements and/or new systems required to meet business needs and future capacity. • Performs software installations and upgrades to UNIX based servers as well as maintains existing systems in accordance with established policies, procedures and service level agreements. • Prepares and maintains professional documentation of server configuration(s), application configuration(s), and network configuration(s) as they relate to server infrastructure, high availability, business continuance and other areas as requested. • Responsible for maintenance and enhancements of existing UNIX servers, (AIX, RHEL) and related utilities.
