Position: HR Manager
 
Job Description
To support TomTom’s People Mission: Designing, Delivering and Maintaining a GREAT PLACE TO WORK. This will be accomplished by: deploying human resource strategies and policies that are developed globally by TomTom Centers of Expertise in Amsterdam, aligned to the local market conditions and all the while, driving an inspiring culture. This position will be an integral partner with the local core team to ensure that business objectives for the various business units are met. It is expected that this role will partner with department heads to ensure team objectives and supported via HR functional areas. This position will be accountable for driving and executing on all aspects of recruitment and selection including meeting set hiring targets; training and development of all employees; employee relations, engagement and retention activities; legal compliance, policy implementation, health and safety and compensation and benefits in accordance with the needs of the local business team.

Recruitment and Selection:
1. Play an active role in the recruitment of new staff and the promotions and transfers of new staff. Meet set hiring targets and provide regular status updates on group staffing plans.
2. Direct responsibility for the recruitment of new executive and managerial staff members.
3. Advise department heads on staffing and organizational development matters.
4. Develop and execute an effective employer branding strategy for local office to attract and retain high caliber talent.

Training & Development:
1. Recommend and source appropriate training resources to meet the needs of employees at all levels of the organization.
2. Promote and deploy corporate initiatives towards succession planning and career and management development programs.
3. Develop, conduct and manage employee new hire and onboarding programs refreshing content as organization changes.

Employee Relations:
1. Ensure that local policies are developed and communicated to all employees in line with corporate philosophies.
2. Support managers and facilitate effective resolution to employee relations matters including disciplinary actions, policy violations, and performance deficiencies and associated performance improvement plans.
3. Provide local support and expertise in conducting Annual Corporate employee survey. Work with Learning and Development COE to develop appropriate action plans to support employee engagement and positive morale at site.

Compensation and Benefits:
1. Work with Comp & Ben Center of Expertise in Amsterdam to ensure competitive and harmonized employment conditions (including base and variable comp and benefits)
2. Ensure local management team understands and supports company philosophies and systems on pay, job grading and banding.
2. Ensure legal compliance with various government laws and regulations in relations to employee benefits and policies.

Other related tasks:
1. Responsible for local HR budget
2. May supervise other HR team members
3. Support quality initiatives in terms of HR hiring and performance management processes


Desired Skills & Experience
  • 10+ years of progressively increasing experience in Human Resources with the most recent experiences in a multi-national company.
  • Extensive knowledge of the local and regional markets.
  • Able to work independently with little direction
  • Must be able to prioritize effectively and utilize strong stakeholder management approach in order to meet the expectations of local core team.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment and effectively manage and deliver results on multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Collaborative approach to problem solving and the ability to work effectively with individuals at all levels (internally and externally).
