"Product Manager Home Goods About this job Relocation Possible for the right candidate, but prefer someone currently in Southern CA Client would like someone out of Crate & Barrel, Pier One Imports, Pottery Barn, etc as this is for home goods. Someone out of Kohls or Home Goods or any of those type of companies would be fine. The Product Manager - Home Goods is accountable for devising new product strategy, developing the new product roadmap and leading product development teams to successfully deliver new carrying case products on a timely basis and ultimately increase company's sales and market share. Position requires close multi-functional collaboration between Marketing, Sales, Design and Operations. Principle Roles and Responsibilities: Develop strategic product plans to drive the development of new products and ensure that new product initiatives deliver added value to the company. Lead product development activities on a tactical level and ensure the development of new products for the Home goods Group. Create, update and manage 18-36 month product roadmap. Develop necessary market research plans to ensure that key decisions are based on sound consumer insights and marketplace facts. Ensure that the interface between marketing, sales, engineering, operations, the GSG and suppliers and customers is smooth and productive, with the result that new products are introduced on time, on budget, and meet specifications while consumers and customers are completely satisfied with the products offered by the company. Work with designers to develop new products and lines to meet target market requirements Effectively manage home goods product lifecycles from concept to launch. Education & Knowledge: A Bachelor's degree and five years plus experience as a Product Manager or an equivalent combination of education and work experience. At least two or more of those years of experience in home goods experience preferred. Strong knowledge of product development required. Skills and Abilities: Ability to provide a marketing vision and strategic direction for new home goods products, and to convert these into effective marketing programs. Minimum five years experience in marketing brand management, including the successful development and launch of new products. Prior experience with home goods products, computer industry related experience preferred. Ability to excel in a cross functional team environment. Proficient computer skills, MS Office programs. Excellent written and oral communication skills (strong presentation skills desired). Must be able to plan and prioritize work to achieve goals. Sound knowledge and experience in the field of consumer marketing. Position will require approximately 20% travel."
