"Hiring a Cloud Architect in San Jose, CA Our Client is a Publicly traded Multi-billion$$$ company looking for a Cloud Architect with a Background in the Telcom, Mobile, and/or Wireless Communications sector. You will be part of a "Top Notch" Development Team of approx 10-20 total resources working on Multiple Projects. These Projects will impact: Product Development, Sharepoint, Web Development, and Mobile Applications. The Cloud Computing Architect serves a critical role to drive the architect/design and implementation for the client’s Physical Security Information Management (PSIM) cloud-based solutions. Essential Functions: Drive the Architecture/Design and implementation to migrate the client’s PSIM to a cloud-based PaaS and SaaS product Interact effectively with CTO, Product Manager, and Engineering managers to drive an optimized solution under known constraints Mentor the team to adopt Development and QA processes or best practices for Cloud Computing Provide innovative idea or direction to the client’s PSIM product Responsibilities • Strong enterprise design skills – building systems for maintainability and growth. • Create excellent code that meets the needs of the customer. • Demonstrate technical creativity while maintaining standards and building within the specifications. • Build technology as well as end-user prototypes to demonstrate concepts and direction. • Assist other developers, analysts, and designers in conceptualizing and developing new software programs and applications. • Plan phases of the software development life cycle (SDLC) for a variety of projects. • Assist in the preparation and documentation of software requirements and specifications. • Research and document requirements of software users. • Recommend, schedule, and perform software improvements and upgrades. • Run and monitor software performance tests on new and existing programs for the purposes of correcting errors, isolating areas for improvement, and general debugging. • Administer critical analysis of test results and deliver solutions to problem areas. • Assist in the development and maintenance of user manuals and guidelines.   Experience and Education: MS/PhD degree in Engineering or Computer Science A proven record of delivering large-scale PaaS and SaaS products on time with high quality Excellent hands-on Windows Azure Platform design and implementation experience Proficient written and verbal communication and technical presentation skills as a software Architect Skills: Strong in advanced technology methodologies and keen in complex enterprise software architecture concept applicable to Cloud Computing migration Self-motivated, innovative, and ability to take ownership in concert with his/her manager with little guidance A strong team player who is willing to support cross team members and adopt changes 10+ years’ experience in Web-based application architecture, design and development using Microsoft technologies 5+ years as a hands-on Architect, designing and implementing web-based scalable application using Microsoft web technologies (ASP.NET / C# / SQL server) Solid knowledge on Cloud Computing (Windows Azure, SQL Azure, AppFabric), LINQ, Entity Frameworks, Silverlight, XAML, .NET Framework 4.0, ASP.NET, C#, Windows Services, AJAX, JQuery , SOAP, IIS 7, HTML5, etc. Extensive hands-on database design & development in SQL Server Azure & 2008.
