"Quality Engineer in Jackson, TN Manpower Professional in Jackson, TN is currently recruiting for a Quality Engineer for an automotive manufacturer in West Tennessee. This position is responsible for supporting the entire Quality and Engineering Systems including Customer Contact, TS16949, PPAP, SPC, MSA, APQP, FMEA, QOS, 8D Problem Solving, Testing, Metrology, Layout functions, Travel to Customer and Continuous Improvement Efforts as well as all associated documentation. This position is also responsible for providing process improvements to the manufacturing area to achieve optimal levels of productivity, quality, and safety to assure internal and external customer satisfaction. Candidates must have working automotive experience AND must be eligible to work in the United States. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned: Complete Layouts and Testing on parts for PPAP, Problem Solving, etc Ongoing testing of parts (Functional, Dimensional, Physical properties, etc.) Create and participate in department cost savings activity Testing of raw material, Meltflow, moisture analyzer Create, update and maintain Quality Documentation, Customer Contact Reports, Customer Sort Reports, Information Relating to Concerns, Procedures, etc. Participate in / Initiate cross functional teams in the pursuit of problem solving and mistake proofing quality problems Responsible for creating, verifying, and sending PPAPs Travel and provide support to customers to resolve problems, serving as focal point of contact Provide key engineering input into the development of plant and department strategy goals Support plant activities toward achieving customer awards quality registrations (i.e., TS16949, Gold Pentastar, ISO 14001, Ford Q1, etc.) Oversee activities so as to achieve optimal plant layouts, material/work flows, time/motion, etc. through proactive and progressive development activities (i.e., Kaizen, synchronous manufacturing, VA/VE, etc.) Assist in the development, implementation, and training of process related work methods/flow Assist Program Management in conducting new equipment tryouts; review results/data and initiate appropriate action stemming from new tool tryouts; and other activities as deemed by program phase elements Assist the plant in process improvement initiatives and activities Develop and review job standards Assist plant on QOS measureables and related corrective/improvement actions Communicate new program and pre-program unresolved equipment, processing, or material concerns with the appropriate department manager Lead and/or participate in related root cause analysis and problem solving activities Comply and assist with interpretation and adherence to OSHA safety procedures and regulations Maintain high standards of housekeeping in respective areas Develop and maintain error proofing verification parts Candidates must possess the following: Technical degree / equivalent experience. Computer literate. TS16949, PPAP, APQP, SPC, MSA, FMEA, QOS, 8D Problem Solving, experience. Knowledge of quality systems and standards.
