This will include but not limited to the installation, configuration and maintenance of the operating systems and storage systems, monitoring servers and software/hardware upgrades. You will also be responsible for the server security, testing disaster recovery plans and play a key role in a raft of challenging & interesting projects that lay ahead (System Reviews, Disaster Recovery etc). This role is pivotal as you will be responsible for the high level design and sustainability of robust systems within mission critical environments. You will have 5+ years working with Linux (ideally various distributions,) strong scripting skills and a high level understanding of how to design complex Linux Infrastructure. As well as this, you will be well versed and a successful engineer in the latest Windows technologies such as Windows Server 2008R2, Hyper-V, Systems Centre, Active Directory, Exchange, etc. In addition, you will be working on the client site and therefore will be required to have a current Highly Protected or above Federal Government clearance. You will be working as part of a project team and strong communication/documentation skills is a must have for this role.
