"Job: Senior Legal Counsel - Riyadh - 10 PQE+ in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia Senior Legal Counsel – Riyadh – 10PQE + Saudi Arabia – Riyadh – GCC – Middle East Ideally Western Qualified – Level of Arabic preferable – Experience in the GCC required Leap29 have the privilege in assisting one of Saudi Arabia’s most esteemed government controlled entities in its search for a Senior Level Legal Counsel. This is an opportunity that will put you in the heart of some of the largest transactions in the GCC within the safe confines of one of the Middle East’s fastest growing and most stable markets. Senior Legal Counsels are expected to have at least 10 years PQE. Ideally this will be in the extraction and upstream sector of energy & power law. Applicants should have a level of In house experience and be familiar with internal procedure of an internationally ranked company. Legal Counsels are also expected to have a level of exposure in representing a company to outside counsel on an international level. However the candidates are expected to have a level of training originally from an internationally ranked entity within a leading command law jurisdiction. (AUS, US, UK, NZ, Canada, etc…). Senior legal Counsels are expected to “hit the ground running” and as a result are required to have some experience within the GCC. Senior Legal Counsels will also need to be comfortable with managing the caseload of, not only themselves, but of more junior members of the legal team. Arabic is not a requirement for the role but certainly would be preferable. As this is an expansion role the client is seeking candidates with a commitment to the region and long term prospects to stay within Saudi Arabia.
