Work visa status: Current location: Contact phone number: Availability for joining: Expected Pay Rate: Job Description: Title: BIOS Engineer Location: San Jose, CA and Portland, OR Responsibities: You will be part of a fast paced team responsible for delivering quality code for large complex systems requirements. Open communications, empowerment, innovation, teamwork and customer success are the foundations of the team with "pay for performance" culture. Thus, you set your own limits for learning, achievements and rewards. You will be part of a next generation data center products. Work also involves providing constant feedback to hardware and software teams for improvements. Write complete functional and design specs independently. Write portions of product spec. Lead development of subsystems. Design & Develop large portions of software independently and rapidly. Required Skills/Experience: •5+ years of strong BIOS background. •5+ years experience with implement silicon support in our BIOS. •5+ years experience with x86 Assembly language and/or C/C++ programming language. •Study industry specifications, vendor's hardware documentation, then implement supporting firmware into existing code bases. •Must have experience with Debug BIOS, OS, hardware, and driver issues. •Work with testers in validation labs •Integrate silicon vendor's reference code. Highly desirable Skills/Experience: •Strong knowledge of Tiano based BIOS. •Strong knowledge of PC hardware and operating systems. •Good understanding of advanced software engineering processes and methodologies. •Understanding of Linux OS behaviors an advantage. •Understanding of Windows OS behaviors. •Understanding of Networking an advantage •Proficient in legacy PC. Personal Characteristics: •Excellent communication skills and a proven ability to manage competing high priority tasks. •Strong team player with the ability to work collaboratively with others, and have fun! •Independent, Accountable, Strong sense of ownership, Assertive, Communicative, Accountable, Sense of urgency, and Flexible and adaptable. •5 plus years of total experience •BSCS or MSCS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electronic Engineering, or other relevant field"
