Job Description: Interested candidates must apply at to req. number 18296BRThe Sourcing Process and Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) Director is responsible and accountable for leading the improvement of processes (i.e., sourcing, SRM, contract management) and supporting tools (e.g., Aribas end user requirements and Supplier and Contract Management modules) involved in the procurement lifecycle, especially as they pertain to the Global Strategic Sourcing (GSS) group of Amgen. This Director will also be responsible for developing and improving an integration playbook for acquired companies. The Director will provide the initial interface between GSS and a newly acquired company in the integration process, as well as drive enterprise risk management for Amgen with regard to suppliers, environmental sustainability and compliance to policies and procedures. The Director will report directly to the Center of Excellence (CoE) Executive Director.As a leader within the CoE, this Director will directly oversee various Senior Manager positions within the CoE. This Director is responsible for training new team members, performance management, career discussions and prioritizing the work of direct reports.This role includes 3 sets of responsibilities:1) Leadership / People Development;2) Leading Execution of Projects; and3) Driving Organizational Alignment and ValueLeadership / People Development: Builds talent through direct team for the broader GSS organization Provides daily work direction and thought leadership to the team Provides performance feedback and career counseling Serves as a thought partner to the team to ensure their work is complete, rigorous and will satisfy customer needs Ensures program development and implementation for capabilities and technology are timely, complete, and meet customer needs Actively challenges work and recommendations, pushing thinking and ensuring the most comprehensive, creative and Removes barriers for team to ensure teams ability to execute Resolves escalated issues Prioritizes teams work among several initiatives Trains new team members as necessaryLeading Execution of Projects Leads teams to execute towards goals, taking GSS processes and tools, acquisition integration, enterprise risk management, environmental sustainability and compliance initiatives to the next level Encourages clear project planning, active stakeholder management and clear communications during project development and execution Tracks progress/outcome of strategic initiatives by monitoring progress towards goals, achieving milestones and analyzing data to ensure follow-through from key players Driving Organizational Alignment and Value Coordinates and integrates team activities in the development and implementation of new processes and policies Develops innovative solutions"
