"My client has a genuinely exciting new position which would suit commercial generalist looking to widen their skills or a construction lawyer hoping to broaden into a more general In-house caseload. Your responsibilities will be to effectively provide the legal work required across a busy Group of Companies with a strong commercial and regulatory compliance focus ensuring relevant risk management based on the subject matter, with strength of character to manage and influence individuals at all levels both internal and external to the organisation. Day to day duties will vary enormously but will include; The review of incoming commercial contracts, amendment and reporting of issues on them. Negotiation of particular contract elements as required. Ensure regulatory compliance with issues such as data protection, marketing and advertising and dealing with regulatory bodies in the UK. Drafting of agreements and terms of business as appropriate. Ensuring protection of IP and ownership or transfer of IP rights. Supporting the sales teams and others with advice on contractual matters. Analysis of contracts to ensure they comply with relevant legislation, reporting on recommendations and risks in contracts. . Dealing with litigation and disputes by instruction of external lawyers and co-ordination of requirements, review of their advice and production of briefing papers for litigation. Research of case history to establish facts to support and maximise the position of the business, through establishment of business rights. Companies House registrations of all Group businesses including statutory filings, articles of association, annual returns, changes to directors, shares and voting rights etc. Above all, you will be willing to roll up your sleeves and be hands on - not just with the chunky high profile work, but also with some of the more routine work. Its likely to suit someone with at least a couple of years PQE with the right In-house aptitude. Salary in likely to be up to around £50k + car + bens.
