The position designs and develops web sites and creates web graphics for VITA. The position supports all VITA directorates. Job Description: Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals, independently performs a variety of complicated tasks, may lead and direct the work of others, a wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected. •Work closely with VITA Directorates, LT Gov, internal customers, and users to fully understand business requirements. Present design and web mockups to the customers for development approval. Meet project dates as assigned and agreed upon with customer and users. Provide and Deliver 508 Accessibility Web Application Compliance on schedule and within budget. Provide necessary support to meet the CIO Objectives. Ensure Website security standards are enforced for all Websites and Web applications. •Design graphics for web, print and other media as needed. Design new elements for sites including total site redesigns and/or new site designs. Keep up to date with latest trends in site design. Meet project dates as assigned and agreed upon with customer and users. •Develop applications as requested and identify new applications for development. Adhere to standards of coding and project management, full life cycle. Meet project dates as assigned and agreed upon with customer and users. Provide and Deliver 508 Accessibility Web Application Compliance on schedule and within budget. Ensure Website security standards are enforced for all Websites and Web applications. •Update Ektron approved content from VITACOMMS, Lt. Governor's office and other sources that is managed by Web Solutions and ensure it is posted in a timely manner and meets posting policy. Update Ektron user accounts for content management and provide training as needed. Ensure Ektron CMS400 software maintenance levels and patches are maintained and installed by the Partnership. Work closely with VITACOMMS on content and creating new pages as required Additional Information: Graduate from an accredited college with degree in Information Management, Graphic Design, Computer Science or related business field, such as Advertising, Marketing or Design preferred and/or progressive IT development or website work experience. Previous experience is required with website development projects; website project experience using CSS, HTML, HTML5, JavaScript, and JQuery; Dreamweaver & Cold Fusion experience is also required. Extensive experience is required with website production support activities such as managing content management system, content updates, patches, software upgrades, etc. Experience with 508 compliance for websites; graphic design for the web and using Photoshop effectively is required. Ability to take direction from multiple sources, good prioritization skills and progressive experience in website design and development is required. Preferred experience with emerging web technologies including mobile web development, responsive web design, multi-use portals, web analytic tools, dynamic web development languages/platforms such as MVC, jQuery, Silverlight, Cold Fusion 5, HTML 5, etc. Preferred experience with third party APIs (Google APIs, Face book API, Twitter, etc.) Preferred Experience with agile development as well as traditional waterfall development methodologies. Preferred experience with web site story boarding, design concepts and user interface development. Ektron content management experience is a preference. Visual design and layout skills desired.
