Mark Jackman posted a job: Java Core Engineer – VP – Tier 1 Investment Bank - London/Hong Kong "My client is looking for an expert level Java developer to join an exciting new project to re-architect there existing trade-processing suite (trade capture/event & position management). The platform uses a range of technologies including Java, C#/.net, C++, and Sybase/SQL on Windows and Linux platforms. This is an opportunity to join an award winning technology team with strong business sponsorship to deliver revenue enhancing technology and industry wide transformation. Main Duties: • Work with subject matter experts to ensure that the solution meets business needs. • Develop java services integrated in the end to end processing of the derivative products. • Build a stable, efficient, scalable cloud based solution which will be deployed globally. • Design and code a significant amount of a robust, secure and efficient API to persist / retrieve data and implement the business logic Technical ability: • 7+ years hands-on expertise with Java • Strong knowledge of Agile environments • Deep understanding of one or several scripting languages (Python, Perl, Ruby .etc.). • Strong OO design skills with good knowledge of object modelling and design patterns. • Relational database experience; ideally Sybase/SQL. • Experience of messaging e.g. AMQ, Tibco .etc. • Ability to solve complex problems and a proven track record of high performance and delivery • Strong communication and team-working skills Equity Derivatives business knowledge is preferred however technical expertise and knowledge of other derivatives (Credit, Interest Rates, Commodity etc) also welcomed." | |||||
