Desired Candidate Profile

• Linux Installation and configuration on Intel based servers and Workstations
• Problem Diagnosing and Hardware Troubleshooting in Linux servers and workstations
• Raid Configuration and maintenance using third-party or opensourse-raid utility.
• Expertise in managing Linux servers with expertise in following OS RHEL 4, 5 & SLES 10, 11.
• Good Knowledge of LAMP Environment.
• Expertise knowledge in configuration & optimization of Apache.
• Good knowledge of Mysql DB configuration & backup.
• Has previous experience with shell / Perl scripting / automation.
• Configuring Kerberos to provide user authentication
• Configuring an NIS server to provide directory services
• Configuring NFSv4 server
• Configuring a network client to use NIS for directory information
• Configuring a network client to use Kerberos for authentication
• Configuring a network client to mount an NFSv4 export
• Configuring r-clients (rlogin, rcp, etc.) and telnet to use Kerberos
• Configuring Directory Server with TLS/SSL and Migrating NIS Users
• Performances monitoring using utilities like PS, kill, nice and Renice, etc.
• Backup and recovery of File system using TAR, DUMP.
• Job Scheduling and automation using CRON and at
• Disk Space Management using LVM
• Installation and maintenance of packages through RPM
• Patch Management
• Network management using netconfig, netstat and ifconfig utilities
• System Maintenance and Changes like time synchronization, account management, log file rotation, and general system cleanup.
