This includes but is not limited to the development of new equipment and processes, as well as establishing the standards needed to transfer the technology to the manufacturing plants. Minimum education -- BS in computer science, engineering or technical field, or equivalent work experience in computer systems technology (three years minimum) Working knowledge of Oracle database and structures Working knowledge of Oracle PL/SQL Experience with Unix or Linux operating systems Leader and team player role in a cross-functional support team environment, sharing knowledge and experiences with other team members in support of team responsibilities Ability to interact with customers from a broad range of computer experience and skill levels in a friendly, open-minded manner Ability to interface with and manage outside consultants/contractors hired to supplement the teams resource requirements Good communications skills Willingness to travel (20-30%) Work occasionally off-hours Desired: Working knowledge of Unix, Linux and Windows operating systems Working knowledge of any of the following: Java Programming language J2EE Programming Language PHP Scripting Language C Programming Language SQR report builder CVS/SVN Code Repository Knowledge TASKS (IN POSTING) This position has multiple responsibilities relating to the development of client/server -based and web-based database applications on UNIX, Linux and Windows platforms that support Goodyear's worldwide manufacturing operations. These responsibilities include the following: analysis and design of the application; construction of the database objects; development of software and stored procedures which interact with the database; development of user interfaces to the database; development of end-user reports; and deployment of the application to the plant.
