Position: System Engineer Network Support, 3+ yrs Job description: 3+ years Telecommunication Industry Technical experience Data and voice network knowledge (WAN, T1, DS3, DS0, OC12, etc.) Working knowledge of SS7 Networking Protocols (MTP, SCCP, ISUP, TUP, TCAP) Working knowledge of signaling applications (ANSI 41, GSM, CNAM, LIDB, Toll Free, SMS, LNP) Working knowledge of ANSI and ITU signaling protocols Working knowledge of Tekelec STP, LSMS, and Sentinel systems Leadership skills Excellent oral and written communication skills Strong follow-up skills Analytical and problem solving skills Additional Experience 2+ years experience working for a Telecommunications Service provider in similar field 2+ years experience working in support environment General Summary: The Systems Engineer Network Support SS7 position is a technical resource responsible for supporting all SS7 network services and applications. Provides technical support for SS7 network and service application issues. This position strives to improve customer satisfaction by monitoring trouble tickets, reports, and other tools to proactively detect service degradation in the network and restore quality service. Principal Duties and Responsibilities: Provides technical support and problem resolution for network issues Performs troubleshooting, issue isolation and corrective action to restore service to customers and trading partners Assists other groups and departments in support of improving customer service Provides 7X24 on-call pager support Maintains knowledge of applicable technologies in voice and data networking, Internet, wireless, and data processing Participates in cross-functional meetings for service enhancement opportunities, tools development, and reporting enhancements Reviews reports and key network health indicators to identify exception conditions; takes corrective action to resolve issue Assists in the development and execution of plans for network systems support and monitoring tools Interacts with other departments to resolve troubles or issues Assists in developing detailed work plans Addresses issues and trouble reports based on priority assigned and severity or urgency of issue Provides Technical support to internal and external customers. Assists in continuous improvement by participating in efforts to improve the existing network architecture, monitoring tools and alarming capability; may recommend changes to enhance quality of service Communications Communicates with Network Operations Center and Customer Service Hotline for information gathering and customer status updates during trouble resolution Works closely with customer’s technical resources to resolve issues Provides updates and information as necessary to senior technical and management personnel Assists customers and internal personnel for issue resolution Note: Please send cvs only, who can able to attend the interview weekdays with short notice period (max 30 days notice period).
