"Summary/Overall Purpose of Role: A global leader in antivirus and content security software and services is currently recruiting a Senior Support Engineer – Knowledge Transfer. The role of the Senior Support Engineer includes handling preferred partners/distributors and customer/resellers technical queries but this person will also be involved in various key projects aimed at initiating/driving changes which will enhance the support organization as a whole. Duties & Responsibilities: The Senior Support Engineer will be responsible for providing technical assistance on all company range of product installed and/or configured on any supported Windows platforms However, a primary focus will also be to transfer knowledge to the Cork TS team in the following products and technologies: Network, Linux, VMware, Malware, OCSE, WF, DS As well as doing the TOI/training, the senior engineer will work in the following areas: Technical Induction Lab setup Training analysis Ongoing training (individual and group) Lab work Potential test Feedback to Management Assist R&D with documentation (scope to TBC) Qualifications/Professional Certifications: Education in technical field, and or industry certifications are advantageous Experienced Required: Minimum of 3 years + proven experience gained in a post sales/network administration or customer support background. Experience of working in a corporate or a distribution/channel support environment is an advantage 2/3 year experience where knowledge of networking and web/internet protocols was required Working experience in a Service/Support organization where customer contact was by Phone, Email, and or Web Tools Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required Knowledge of TCP/IP, HTTP, SMTP, FTP protocols Troubleshooting skills in multi application environments Windows Server Administration Language: Excellent level of English (both written and spoken) Understanding of SLO’s Ability to document knowledge and experience with view to assisting colleagues and customers in the following areas: Network, Linux, VMware, Malware, OCSE, WF, DS Most of the job descriptions can be found at www.jobsforeurope.org.
