"Financial education, seminar and software company seeks a Compliance Officer. The Compliance Director oversees the Corporate Compliance Program, functioning as an independent review and evaluation body to ensure that compliance issues are being appropriately investigated and resolved. Will lead in the implementation of the Company’s Corporate Compliance Program; create and/or review Company policies and procedures; develop and conduct trainings; provides guidance to business units on a daily basis. Ensures the Board of Directors, senior management and employees are in compliance with the rules and regulations of regulatory agencies, that company policies and procedures are being followed, and that behavior in the organization meets the standards of the company’s Code of Conduct and Compliance Programs. Responsibilities include: * Develops, initiates, maintains, and revises policies and procedures to prevent illegal or improper conduct. * Creates training programs related to corporate compliance programs. * Develops and executes audit programs and performs periodic departmental compliance reviews to ensure compliance. * Responds to alleged violations of rules, regulations, policies and procedures by recommending the initiation of investigative procedures. Develops and oversees a system for uniform handling of such violations. Develops/implements corrective action plans for the resolution of compliance issues. * Works in partnership and provides guidance to the teleservices department, accounting department, sales, marketing, operations and other business units related to the compliance program. * Provides reports on a regular basis, or as requested, to keep senior management informed of the operation and progress of compliance efforts. * Manages day-to-day operations of the Quality Assurance and Compliance departments. * Serve on the Ethics and Compliance Committee and other committees as necessary. * Stays abreast of new laws and regulations. * Provides direction and management of the Ethics and Compliance Hotline, confidential e-mail address, and monitors complaints. Qualifications: * A minimum of 2 years experience in direct management of a Corporate Compliance Program. * Experience in highly regulated industries preferred, such as Education, Healthcare, Government Contracting, Food and Drug, Insurance or Financial Services. * Familiarity with operational, financial, quality assurance, and human resource procedures, code of ethics requirements, employee whistleblower protections, internal investigations as well as FTC laws, federal and state telemarketing laws, and marketing laws. * Language Skills: Not required but some familiarity with Spanish and other languages is helpful.
