Purchasing Manager in Oradea, Romania Responsibilities:  Maintains responsibility for the management of site purchasing including meeting customer commitments, negotiations and agreement with suppliers, meeting quality and delivery requirements. Understands trends and issues and develops and implements an effective commodity plan. Leads efforts to negotiate agreements with suppliers relative to pricing, lead-time reduction, flexibility, quality and other supply chain factors. Executes supplier agreements and contracts. Sets goals and drives suppliers and projects to meet objectives. Serves as a focal point to develop procurement criteria and resolve issues. Works with other sites to identify and implement cost saving measures. Oversee design, development, integration and maintenance of SCM systems, tools, processes and training at the site. Develops and execute of site inventory management processes including forecasting, analysis, reporting, action plans. Drives continuous improvement to minimize inventory costs and provide necessary management reporting. Provide guidance and direction to business units to achieve site inventory financial results. Directly manages a group of SCM employees or managers. Responsible for employee training, performance, measurement, development, motivation and recognition within his area. Drives continuous improvements of SCM function through interactions with other departments. Builds cross-functional relationships where persuasive skills, negotiation skills, and considerable tact are required to gain support. Interacts directly with subordinates and peer groups; interfaces with senior managers on issues related to the area of expertise. Maintains positive relationships with key customers, suppliers, etc., who have a significant impact on the success of the organization. Accountable for department results and for activities or projects involving multi-functional teams. Receives assignments in the form of objectives and sets goals to achieve objectives. Establishes and recommends changes to policies. Provides direct and indirect supervision to subordinate team leaders and professional employees performing diverse roles; that includes establishing three to five year plans/objectives, and developing policies for the function/unit. Provides direct supervision to others, or indirect through subordinate supervisors, and coordinates the activities of a section or department with responsibility for results in terms of costs, methods, and employees. Reviews employees’ performance and recommends employee compensation; coaches for improved performance and disciplines as necessary. Provides final approval for subordinate managers’/supervisors’ salary and performance recommendations.  Requirments on knowledge/skills/competencies:  Five years relevant experience in a similar position.
