Interviews ASAP "AIX/Unix Engineer-Dallas, Texas This healthcare organization is expanding on a nationwide scale. Join this quality information technology team at an exciting growth time in the life cycle of this business. The AIX/Unix Engineer position will be responsible for participating in administration of the AIX environment. Will support various IT practices and disciplines including Incident Management, Change Management and Service Management. Accountabilities & Responsibilities · Implement and maintain AIX solutions that support systems. · Provisioning of new Unix/Linux systems (physical and virtual, LPAR) · VIO and HMC configuration & administration · Plan and execute major platform software and operating system upgrades and maintenance across a multi-LPAR environment. · Manage the planning, implementation, and upgrade of OEM packages. · Proactively manage system resources to assure maximum system performance and appropriate additional capacity for peak periods and growth. · Plan, configure and implement features on the AIX platform that improve availability, response time, and monitoring of key system metrics. · Storage & File system management · Installation, maintenance and configuration of network services (DNS, SMTP, NTP, etc.) · Knowledge of Scripting in bourne shells (ksh, sh, bash, etc) and PERL LDAP administration · Compliance/security (server hardening) · Installation, maintenance and configuration of Clustering and High Availability Skills & Experience · 3+ years of strong AIX / Unix skills as a System Administrator or Engineer/Architect: · Systems Management and Administration (apply fixes, load the OS, create Gold images, resolve system issues, work with vendors to resolve issues, etc). · Experience with IBM Power VM (virtualization server) · Experience with IBM p-Series hardware · AIX / Unix Systems and Application integration. · Advanced knowledge of Clustering, load balancing, SAN, and High Availability · technologies · Possess thorough understanding of AIX connectivity at a physical and logical level. · Must have scripting experience. · HP-UX experience is desired ARC values diversity of thought, skill, and experience.
