We have an opening at Oracle India's Bangalore location for test development of Oracle products.

Details on the opening:

I have openings in my team working on test development for Flashback, Recovery, Compression features of RDBMS, Oracle Exadata Storage and Oracle Clusterware. My team need to develop tools/ framework and test applets/scripts and automate the test setup needed for the features of Oracle Kernel we are testing. The features we test can be exercised only through some level of programming as we are testing the database itself and not the application developed on top of it.

The opening is for an individual contributor position, though, at a later point you may have a small team depending on the complexity of the features you work on.
In this position, you will be working very closely with the feature development team to develop a test plan/infrastructure needed for the feature. You will also be reviewing the feature specifications (Functional & Design spec) before it is finalized as your inputs from a customer perspective might be important in the implementation.

What we need:
--------------
- Two to five years of industry experience
- Sound knowledge in Clustering concepts/RDBMS Concepts/Storage Concepts
- Sound knowledge in SQL/PLSQL
- Programming experience with C/Core Java
- Working experience with any of the commonly used databases - Oracle / DB2 / MSSqlServer / MySql etc

- Experience with a scripting language like Perl/Python is desirable
- Experience in working with Oracle Database is highly desirable
- Experience in working with Unix/Linux platform, knowledge of shell scripting is desirable
- Experience in JUnit / Jython / JMock will be an advantage

The group:
---------------
'Database test development' group (part of the database server group of Server Technologies Division) works on the upcoming releases of Oracle database server, enveloping a wide range of technologies that include (but not limited to) RDBMS, XML, Real Application Clusters (RAC), Security, Replication/Streams, Queuing, Storage Management, Backup/Recovery, Query Optimization, Transaction Management, Performance Tuning and High Availability.

The group with its state of the art development infrastructure and practices, helps shape technology that has been important for a large number of Fortune 2000 and other companies.
