IMMED INTERVIEW - ETL Ab Initio QA Consultant (URGENT NEED)

Job Title: ETL Ab Initio QA Consultant
Length: 12+Months Contract
Location: San Mateo, CA

ETL skills
Familiarity with Data Warehousing concepts
Familiarity with ETL concepts
Experience with testing or developing ETL processes
Familiarity with commercial ETL tools, Ab Initio required
Experience in data analyses, data validation and/or data quality assurance
Experience in validating data mapping, selection criteria, aggregations, sorting, lookups, transformations, data loads.
Experience in processing and validating data in flat files as well as in DB tables.
Experience with batch processing.

Ab Initio:
Knowledge of Ab Initio, basic understanding of GDE, individual components.
Ability to execute the graph from GDE and command line.
Ability to manipulate the code and update/create basic test tools.
Ability to read and interpret the code and create data requirements based on code changes.

Test Methodology and General Skills
Strong understanding of the role of testing in development lifecycle
Strong ability to analyze technical documentation
Ability to develop test assets (e.g. test plans, test designs, test cases, discrepancy reports, etc.)
Ability and working knowledge of Rational products (ClearQuest, Test Manager, Robot, etc.)
Strong communications skills.

UNIX skills
Ability to use VI editor, edit files
Ability to create, rename, delete, copy files and directories
Ability to maneuver around the directory structure, find specific files
Ability to set and modify file permissions
Ability to write simple regular expressions
Ability to use basic UNIX commands like wc, grep, cut, sort, more, cat
Ability to modify existing UNIX scripts
Basic understanding of redirection

MVS skills:
Ability to copy, edit, delete, rename a sequential data set
Ability to view data in the data set
Ability to navigate within the data set (find specific record, value, etc.)
Ability to copy a member from one JCL library to another
Basic knowledge of JCL (ability to modify existing JCL so that the job could be run in QA environment)
Ability to execute a job from JCL and interpret job output
Ability to use FileAid, access and use data set layout

Database skills (SQL):
Ability to find a specific record in the table, display data for specified fields
Ability to update a field, a record in the table
Ability to delete a record from a table
Ability to calculate total number of records in the table
Ability to calculate total sum for a specific column in the table
Basic understanding of RDBMS
Understanding of the data warehousing concepts (e.g. purpose and role of the fact tables versus dimension tables).
