The position, which reports directly to the General Counsel/Chief Compliance Officer, will be responsible for day to day management of the compliance program for this $3bn distressed debt hedge fund. Hedge Fund compliance background is preferred but the firm will look at individuals with other compliance backgrounds or demonstrated analytical job skills – an auditing background would be helpful. Responsibilities include: • Management, implementation and maintenance of firm’s compliance program, including various compliance logs and checklists (e.g., marketing materials). • Manage application of firm Code of Ethics. • Develop program for reviewing communication and implementation of program in conjunction with communication archive service provider, Global Relay, and design and maintain periodic searches. • Work with compliance consultants to design a plan for periodic testing of policies – investment documentation, investor documentation, etc. • Monitor legal developments in compliance area. Design new compliance initiatives as law, compliance and business evolve, and implement the initiatives along with the firm’s relevant functional unit. Assist areas of the firm in the ongoing implementation of compliance policies as necessary. • Organize compliance related committee meetings – monthly valuation committee and allocation committee meetings, and quarterly best execution committee meetings. • Organize periodic training sessions for employees – generally annually or semi annually.
