Post Resume -Get Paid by Employers at Resumark .com Subject: Political Law Associate – AVP/VP Gerald Elliott posted a job: Political Law Associate – AVP/VP "Top-Tier Financial Services Firm Seeks Law Firm Associate for Political/Election Law Research and Advisory Position New York, NY The position will report to the Head of the Political Law Group and provide guidance on gifts & entertainment, lobbying and pay-to-play as they relate to the firm’s interactions with prominent US government officials. Responsibilities: Review, examine and approve or deny client gifts & entertainment and related requests that involve high-risk clients. Provide day to day compliance advisory regarding gifts & entertainment issues involving high-risk client types. Research and maintain current records and guidance material relating to gifts & entertainment, pay-to-play and lobbying compliance. Stay abreast of industry trends and practices and regulatory guidelines, developments and changes regarding gifts & entertainment, pay-to-play and lobbying rules. Assist in developing and maintaining written policies and procedures for handling client gifts & entertainment, political contributions and business with government entities, and escalate policy breaches to the appropriate Business Management personnel. Support the required regulatory filings related to the firm’s gift & entertainment, pay-to-play and lobbying activities. Assist training and communication efforts for employees regarding applicable regulations, restrictions and policies and procedures relating to gifts & entertainment of US government officials, pay-to-play and lobbying. Assist the global coordination effort with counterparts in Compliance, Business Management and Global Marketing to develop firm-wide standards and best practices and identify regional differences related to the review, approval and recording of client gifts & entertainment. Qualifications: JD and 3+ years as an Associate in the Political Law/Election/Lobbying Group of a Law Firm or other relevant experience. Extensive knowledge of US political law and ethics issues at the federal, state or municipal level. Extensive knowledge of FINRA gift & entertainment rules. Working knowledge of Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA). Demonstrated organizational skills. Excellent research, writing and communication skills.
