Storage Engineer in Atlanta, GA Job Description Our Client is a Publicly traded Multi-billion$$$ company looking for a Storage Engineer with a Background in the Telecom, Mobile, and/or Wireless Communications sector. You will be part of a "Top Notch" Development Team of approx. 10-20 total resources working on Multiple Projects. These Projects will impact: Product Development, Networking, VPN, and Virtualization Applications.   Summary of Role: This is an excellent opportunity for a talented Backup Administrator. The ideal candidate will be proactive and willing to learn new technologies. This position is responsible for administrating all aspects of backups, including hardware, and related applications. The candidate will design, install, maintain and monitor all backup platforms and related systems in support of data center operations. This includes installing, configuring and maintaining backup storage infrastructure and backup related software. Desired Skills & Experience The candidate must enjoy working in a team environment; have strong written and oral communication skills, and enterprise backup and storage experience to include: Experience with designing, building,installing, configuring, and supporting storage servers and Backup Execmanagement software (versions BE12.5, BE2010, and CASO) Experience with HP Storage Works EVA, NetApp and Robotic tape libraries Familiar with NDMP and DeDup practices Familiar with off-site storage facility (Iron Mountain) web console for tape transmittals Maintain current backup environment to include validation of all jobs Experience with Backup Exec server(s) consolidation to include jobs, policies, and catalogs General troubleshooting of backup related issues Assistance with Post Incident Report generation and all post mortem documentation for escalated events Tune backup systems for optimal performance Create/Maintain regular backup performance and SOX/compliancy reports Capacity planning and hardware sizing for backup components Participate in the planning and implementing of disaster recovery and high availability solutions for critical systems Change ticket system update and coordination with other Operations groups Maintenance and new installation activities during maintenance windows Maintain SLA for the backup environment Development and implementation of backup standards for all servers Documentation of the backup infrastructure Ability to be on-call and respond on-site as required Assist with projects, as assigned Any other assigned tasks required to support the success of the team Ability to work under pressure to solve technical problems quickly and to automate processes and solutions using available tools Experience working in diverse, business critical production support environments required; MUST have hands on experience in technical infrastructure operations including the ability to work with cabling, racks, tape drives, PDU’s, etc. Participate in the planning and implementation of policies and procedures for data backups and restores to ensure data recoverability in an efficient manner consistent with company goals, industry best practices, and regulatory requirements http://bull.hn/l/CVE3/6"
