"Pre-Sales Engineer NEEDED (Virtualization/Monitoring Space) Chicago, Illinois My client is the leader in virtual machine backup and recovery, as well as virtualization monitoring solutions. They are experiencing phenomenal growth. They are in need of a Pre-sales Engineer to help support sales efforts throughout the Chicagoland territory. Duties will include: • Participate in sales calls, webinars, conference calls, product presentations, demonstrations, and trainings with Customers and Channel Partners. • Ensure success of customer evaluations and proof-of-concepts (POCs). • Build and maintain excellent Channel Partner relationships that lead to successful completion of the sales process and repeat sales. • Work closely with the Technical Support team to solve Customer and Channel Partner technical issues. • Participation at various trade shows, conferences and marketing events as needed. • Documentation of client feature requests and issues. • Author technical whitepapers and blog posting on a consistent basis. • Occasionally support consulting engagements. The Ideal Candidate should have the following skills and experiences: • Prefer 2-5 years of Pre-Sales experience. • Proven track record working as part of a sales team while providing technical leadership in large accounts • Good understanding of the following technical categories: Virtualization, Monitoring products, Operating Systems (Unix, Linux, Windows), Enterprise Applications, Backup and Disaster Recovery, Network and Systems management, Security, Internetworking and Storage Area Networks. • Good organizational skills and ability to keep track of the current status at multiple accounts simultaneously • Must be able to function independently in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment • Experience conducting training or consulting engagements • Travel at least 50% of the time to Partner and Customer locations. • BA/BS or equivalent required.
