Job Description We are currently looking for an experienced Controller to join the management team of our Silicon Valley region of hotels. This Controller will support the financial activities of two hotel properties located between San Jose and Mountain View in the Silicon Valley. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of collaborating with managers and the financial services department to ensure that all financial activities are accurate and effective.   POSITION PROFILE: Responsible for directing the financial activities of the hotel properties.   Essential Job Functions: - In collaboration with hotel properties, develop and prepare financial analysis (budgets and forecasts). - Recruit, train and manage the performance of the Financial Services department. - Oversee all month end and year end closings. - Prepare all financial statements. - Maintain accurate control over balance sheets. - Oversee bi monthly payroll processes. - Ensure that all Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivables are executed in a timely and accurate manner. - Ensure that all financial services policies and procedures are implemented and adhered to. - Prepare hotel sales tax and annual tax documents. - Other duties may be assigned at any given time based on business trends/demands.   Qualifications 5+ to 7 years of experience   Management Experience Required - No  Minimum Education - Bachelor's Degree Qualifications/Skills: Requirements are representative of minimum levels of knowledge, skills and /or abilities. To perform this job successfully, the employee will possess the abilities or aptitudes to perform each duty proficiently.   Essential: Minimum of 2-4 years experience as a Controller in the Hospitality Industry. Minimum of 2-4 years experience previous experience managing a team within a hospitality financial services environment. Proven ability to collaborate with management teams to develop budgets, analyze financial data, and implement and uphold accounting operating standards. High degree of computer literacy and extensive work experience with spreadsheets (Excel). Must have a "hands on" approach to managing the financial services department and functions. Ability to meet deadlines. Strong organizational skills.   Desirable: Previous multi-property experience. Previous experience in a boutique hotel environment.
