We identify with the product itself and take on responsibility for shepherding and nurturing our service to make it the backbone of a high-performance high-volume interactive risk application. • Has good problem solving skills, both in product design and software design – Portfolio Service developers are not just implementers, we collaborate with our product management team to solve customer problems through designing software that enables our customers to do complicated risk management analysis simply and efficiently. Responsibilities • Maintain existing portfolio storage application for storing and transforming client financial portfolios • Design and implement feature requests within our portfolio storage application • Collaborate with business analysts to review feature specifications, determine feasible implementations, and work together to determine best product designs • Implement extensive automated functional and performance tests. • Make general contributions to the application and technical architecture • 3rd tier production support Requirements • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering or related field • 4+ years software development experience • 2+ years Java experience • Outstanding technical communication skills • Full software lifecycle experience: source code control, release/dependency management Qualifications • Service-oriented architecture • Multi-threaded programming • Relational databases - relational storage of objects or XML; SQL, Oracle, relational modeling • JUnit unit testing • XML processing • Java memory management and memory profiling • Eclipse IDE • Maven • Subversion • Developing software in a globally distributed development team • Financial services experience • Product support and sales support experience"
