"Job Description: Title: Service Availability Manager Location: Gaithersburg, MD Job Description - Manage and coordinate the efforts of cross-functional service restoration teams to resolve the service outages that occur throughout all locations globally. - Ensure service issues are processed with urgency to continually minimize downtime impact to the business. - Responsible for Incident Management from initiation until an acceptable client work-around is in place. Responsible for all communications during a major system outage, ensuring management and business are kept updated as required. Requirements: - BS Degree or equivalent combination of course work and job experience. - ITILv3 Foundation certification. - 5 or more years work experience with aligning the Incident management policies, processes, procedures, guidelines, metrics, and performance targets with a standard ITIL best practices. - Strong working knowledge of ITIL Incident & Problem Management. - Previous experience/exposure to Service Management principles and practice. - Must have experience working with global teams on Enterprise level infrastructure and applications. - Working knowledge of relevant network technologies (e.g. Routers, Switches, Firewalls, IDS/IPS, VPN). - Understanding of multiple operating systems such as Windows Server, Linux, & UNIX. - Understanding of Storage Technologies (SAN and NAS). - Pharmaceutical or Bio-Tech industry knowledge is a plus. - Problem management experience is desired.
