TECHNICAL MARKETING DIRECTOR - BASED ANYWHERE IN US in Carlsbad, CA TECHNICAL MARKETING DIRECTOR Search Group is dedicated to matching the best professionals with the best opportunities. We are currently seeking a Technical Marketing Manager for a leading firm. Ideally, this position would be based in one of the following cities: Carlsbad, CA; Milpitas, CA; Eden Prairie, MN; Marlborough, MA; Austin, TX. (though for the right person - a home office anywhere in the US is a potential)   The Technical Marketing Manager is responsible for working in close collaboration with Sales to ensure target customers are continuously updated on the firm's capabilities in Design Engineering, Technology, Manufacturing Capability, and Field Development support.   The Director will have full management accountability: Staff hiring and training, determining staffing needs for meeting sales goals and objectives. Establishing individual goals and prioritizing areas of concentration to overcome obstacles and achieve planned growth. Assist in the definition, implementation and management of budgets. Marketing decisions include but are not limited to pricing, product plans and strategies, forecast validation and catalogs.   This person will work closely with customers to capture and internally communicate detailed customer product roadmaps, and work with Corporate and Business Unit Marketing to ensure that customers are supported within the scope of Business Unit strategies and objectives. Work with Sales to prepare the technical response and development schedule sections of key customer quotations as required. Assist DE and Sales in the resolution of out of line issues by providing leadership in necessary customer facing interactions. The selected candidate will further: * Obtain a thorough understanding of company technologies and Development Engineering strengths and weakness in order to effectively communicate and realistically set expectations of customers in the areas of technology and engineering capability. * Obtain a thorough understanding of company manufacturing, manufacturing test, and quality systems in order to effectively communicate externally and properly set expectations of customers in the area of manufacturing process capability. * Establish broad relationships of trust with key customer engineering and business personnel in order to increase the effectiveness of communication between the firm and each assigned customer. * Become an expert in the commercial and technical business strategies of the assigned Business Unit in order to provide guidance to sales and properly and effectively target opportunities and increase the effectiveness of the Sales teams. * Understand and document the product roadmap of assigned customers over the one year, three year and five year time horizons, and communicate this to the Management Team on a regular basis, but no less frequently than quarterly. * Lead the technical engagement for targeted sales opportunities.  Assist sales in the capture and understanding of key technical and commercial requirements, understand competitor positioning, determine strengths and weakness of competitor's offerings and establish messaging to position the company's offering in the most favorable light.  Assist Design Engineering to resolve technical questions during the RFQ process and provide a direct interface between the customer and the engineering teams.   The Technical Marketing Manager will possess the following qualifications: * BSEE and preferably additional Marketing/MBA qualific... http://bull.hn/l/JALZ/6"
