Post Resume -Get Paid by Employers at Resumark .com Subject: Job Title: CPE Provisioning Engineer Duration: 6+ Months Contract Location: Downingtown, PA Mehboob Meherali posted a job: Job Title: CPE Provisioning Engineer Duration: 6+ Months Contract Location: Downingtown, PA "Summary: The two basic skill sets we’re looking for are EITHER • Settop expertise (Keywords Motorola, Cisco, RF installation, diagnostics, troubleshooting) • Billing expertise (AMDOCS and/or CSG provisioning, BACC, rate codes) Primary Responsibilities and Requirements •Install, configure, and maintain CPE equipment •Understand controller set top box code downloads, rate codes, STB features and channel map configurations •Load code according to “golden configurations” •Perform bug verification, development and testing on reported issues as needed •Knowledgeable with TV/video characteristics such as HD, SD, 3D,1080p, resolution, HDMI, Dolby 5.1 etc. • Support CPE inventory management •Ability to clearly and concisely describe problems in both written and oral forms and communicate both orally and in writing in a clear, professional and pleasant manner. •Strong working knowledge of Outlook, MS Office programs etc. • Travel between labs may be required. Labs are currently located in PA and NJ. The employee would be based in Downingtown, PA where 75% of employee’s work will take place Additional Requirements •Provide reports on a weekly basis of all system design and maintenance activity •Review and provide input to new technical requirements •Ability to participate in defining overall approach and structure of lab designs •Coordinate activities between departments to ensure uninterrupted business operation • Provide a Bill of Material for equipment required to meet future requirements • Self-motivated with desire for continuous learning •Must be very detailed oriented and have a passion for accuracy and completeness •Must have good communication skills, working in teams and as an individual contributor •Must be willing to accept additional assignments, and take the lead, and assist other team members as necessary •Ability to work autonomously without close supervision or assistance •Work with project teams to understand current and future provisioning configuration needs •Proactive identification and resolution of complex technical and operational issues •Capable of reviewing “golden configurations” from Product Engineering Groups Specialty Knowledge Desired but not Required • Understand the STB requirements associated with channel maps for DSG, Legacy, and DTA devices • Fluent in assigning correct channel maps for DSG and Legacy devices, including DTAs • Knowledge of performance monitoring and configuration management tools • Good understanding of Cisco CNR/BAAC, TFTP files and IP scopes • Working experience with cable modems, eMTAs, and STBs •Thorough knowledge of CSG and Amdocs system architecture • Understand CSG and AMDOCS billing interfaces to video devices • Understand the concept of “walled garden” provisioning • Understand the STB features, including VOD, PPV, IR remotes • Understand Motorola, Pace, and Samsung set top box on screen diagnostics, including TV Guide diagnostics • Ability to engage with vendors to resolve equipment issues and identify future needs • Proficient in DOCSIS, Packet Cable 2.0, OCAP, True2Way •Knowledgeable of rate codes, packages (BR01…BR5, B, C0…C3, C), guides, VOD Education/Experience • Bachelors in Computer Science, Engineering, Math, or equivalent job related experience/knowledge as determined by management. • 3+ years of cable or telecom industry experience • 3+ years experience in Co, Head end and /or NOC environments • 3+ years of customer service support experience • Experience with cable TV or telecommunications industry is desired • Billing system (AMDOCS, CSG) training and experience is desired IT Jobs in US for Canadian passport holders.
