Director of Supply Chain Management in Chicago, IL Position: Director of Supply Chain  Department: Operations  Reports to: President Position Description:   The Director of Supply Chain leads the Operations team to plan and meet budgeted demand, plan production and control finished goods inventory as per the stated goals for the US, Mexico and Puerto Rico. Lead and manage projects to reduce overall costs of delivering product to market through process improvements and application of forecast/supply chain technologies.  Specific Responsibilities   Lead, motivate and develop team of Operations personnel with superior operations, finance and analytical skills Assist in the creation and execution of the Operations budget Review current forecast/supply chain tools from a process and technology perspective. Work with Phone division to adapt to their state-of-the-art supply chain system Work closely with sales and HK headquarters to develop and maintain an inventory plan that supports customer demand Manage 3rd party logistic providers to ensure the best services at the best costs Design processes to minimize cost of “go to market” activities like inbound transportation, production cost, outbound transportation, price protection and mark downs Take independent action and calculated risks, look for opportunities to leverage inventory position against sales plan. Working with Sales, assist in driving inventory turns and sales opportunities related to excess inventory while maximizing value Intimate understanding of customer's logistical and operational planning to drive greater alignment with processes Clearly present business risks and threats to senior management with potential solutions and financial impact Other duties as assigned by the President.   Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:   Strong Excel and MS Office Skills Experience in using Business Intelligence tools like Business Objects Process-Mapping experience using applications like MS Visio Strong understanding of and exposure to supply chain concepts. Must be knowledgeable in planning and forecasting systems (MRP/DRP/ERP/CRM) Must demonstrate ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing at all levels of the organization, customers, employees, contractors and vendors using English Excellent organizational and time management skills Strong leadership competencies and team building skills; has the ability to effectively motivate a small team to create a culture of teamwork Demonstrated ability to drive results; able to monitor activities, analyze data, identify problems and develop solutions Some travel required   Education and Experience:   Bachelors Degree in Supply Chain / Operations / Logistics from an accredited College or University; Masters Degree is desirable 5-7 years prior Supply Chain management experience preferably in consumer products distribution     http://bull.hn/l/JDAT/6"
