Email me @ nadine@lancastersys.com "Lancaster Systems is seeking a dynamic individual with a strong blend of communication, analytical & development skills with general marketing / testing exposure and awareness to work for our direct client on a Right to Hire basis located in Stamford, CT. This individual should have experience working in a fast-paced environment where online marketing and operations is a critical component of one or more businesses. The senior developer will be involved in the design and development of new applications as well as enhancement & maintenance of existing applications in support of the evolving Business at the Client. The ideal candidate should be comfortable performing a variety of roles and interacting with a broad range of individuals including peers, management and the Client Business team While work will be centered on analysis, design, development and testing, the candidate will work in a multi-disciplinary team on many phases of the Software Development Life Cycle. Responsibilities • Ability to develop logical and high quality code which meets functional specifications along with technical requirements for reusability, maintainability, and scalability when appropriate • Perform technical analysis based on requirements to establish architecture approach and create detailed design in support of the requirements • Act as application functionality and technology expert, as well as, full life-cycle owner for applications • Engage in requirements elaboration and clarification with business analysis and end user teams • Ensure technical consistency and stability within an application: performance, reliability and maintainability • Document logical and deployment architecture • Maintain development environments • On-call as level 3 application support • Perform incident and problem resolution • Adherence to application development standards • Prepare for architecture review process Experience Required • BA or BS degree with 5-10 years of software development experience • Capable of trouble shooting complex issues across multiple platforms; ability to manage multiple technical issues in a fast-paced and rapidly changing environment • Solid working experience with: Java, J2EE, UML, XML, XSLT, the EJB Specification, Servlets, JSP technologies, HTML, Javascript and Unit Testing frameworks. • Experience with Oracle SQL and PL/SQL • Experience using a JAVA IDE like Eclipse • Understanding and appreciation of change/release management processes and procedures including source control software • Ability to clearly document complicated technical environments & concepts • Ability to troubleshoot and pinpoint problems in a transaction based system The following would be a plus: • Experience with Unix shell scripting • Application architecture modeling and software design experience • Experience with performance tuning • Ability to read and understand VB6 code; Voice XML; IVR/Telephony Experience • Experience with high-level functional design using a variety of tools including use cases, class and sequence diagrams, textual requirements Key Behavioral Requirements Respect in the workplace • Demonstrates integrity and authenticity • Encourages and facilitates the exchange of ideas • Fosters an inclusive work environment Connection & Collaboration • Communicates and relates effectively • Promotes and encourages teamwork • Managers relationships and expectations • Thinks adn solves problems creatively Makes a Difference • Takes personal accountability for actions and results • Is action-oriented rather than reactive • Takes initiative and goes beyond what is required This is a great place to work.
