Senior Network Engineer in Houston, TX Senior Network Engineer Houston, TX   Description Understanding of design and management of the enterprise network including wide area and local area networks.  Provides input to management for network design, procurement of network equipment and supplies. Performs equipment installations and relocation as required to support the business needs of the enterprise. Monitors and tunes the enterprise network for optimal performance. Acts as the primary interface with equipment vendors for resolving problems. Establishes a growth plan for the network to insure the best quality service in a state-of-the-art environment. Provides planning and technical support for enterprise installations. Recognizes and identifies potential areas where existing policies and procedures require change, or where new ones need to be developed, especially regarding future business expansion. Participates with vendors in the assessment of advanced retail transaction processing and database productions including beta and field test participation. Performs at or above the enterprise’s Information Technology performance standard. Direct the activities of the Network Technicians.  The Network Technicians will be responsible for the day-to-day repair, monitoring and installation of the network. Schedule and prioritize network activities. Design the enterprise network and integrate it with other enterprise activities. Develop and document network related policies and procedures including network security. Work with architects, building landlords, contractors, various telephone companies, external Information Technology organizations, and equipment vendors.   Minimum Requirements Applies skills to Install, Upgrade and Maintain Cisco / Juniper Networking and associated technologies. Implements new technologies to solve business issues and requirements. Performs Network design, performance tuning and optimization as required across the Global Landscape. Produce technically excellent solutions architecture that is aligned to business needs and direction. Participate in IT strategic planning and budget preparation. Execute on projects per Plan of Record / Commitment to deliverables. Demonstrated knowledge of a wide variety network solutions, standards and protocols High availability design knowledge and skills Expert knowledge in OSPF, BGP, EIGRP and RIP WAN Acceleration, Voice/Video over IP, Cloud Services Excellent Written and verbal communication skills with ability to communicate at all levels using metrics and data.  Educational Qualifications & Certifications Bachelor’s Degree with 7+ years of experience OR Master’s Degree with 5+ years of experience.
