Supply chain is defined as the sequence of activities and organizations involved in the flow of resources into and out of the enterprise's collective operations producing and delivering a product or service. In St Paul MN area, these activities include the following groups: Purchasing, Production/Inventory Control, and Traffic. Responsibilities: Manage all supply chain processes, procedures, transactions, and documentation to ensure operational effectiveness and companies best interests in accordance with all programs, policies, procedures, and requirements, and all federal/state laws. Plan, implement, and direct supply chain strategy and activities consistent with the overall aims, requirements, and performance metrics of the organization. Derive, develop, initiate, review, and report on performance metrics or data points critical to the successful operations of the business. Performance metrics include, but are not limited to the following: ISO compliance, SOX compliance, inventory/cost forecasts, inventory turns, on-time product delivery, steel material utilization (scrap percentage), freight costs, purchase price, cycle count gross-unit accuracy, on-time raw material delivery, revenue month verification, and more. Liaise with other departments and/or corporate headquarters in order to establish and maintain effective and relevant supply chain activities to support the companies operations including sales, purchasing, materials management, production, and overall operating functions. Anticipate, research, manage, and report on future changes within the supply chain to ensure such knowledge is factored into the planning of the companies own strategy, resources and procedures. Review and analyze organizational information (sales, customer, engineering, quality, production, etc… reports) to assess impact on supply chain activities that have the potential to affect product shipments. Manage, negotiate, and review purchase/procurement contracts as required to enable effective operations and customer/supplier relations. Monitors significant changes in supplier personnel, performance, and financial condition. Performs analysis on key suppliers and drives the implementation of corrective actions as necessary. Provides management with immediate communication as to any significant business changes. Communicate with related authorities, customers, and suppliers as necessary to ensure efficient, positive and lawful relations, support, and activities.
