"Our client is one of the fastest growing Online Gaming Company and is seeking to recruit a SQL Server DBA Team Leader to join their expanding team in Dublin, Ireland. This position will be primarily focused on managing a team of DBA and DB Developers; the role is to lead the DBA function, assisting, coaching and managing the team. Responsibilities/Accountabilities: To lead a team of DBs and DBAs ensuring they perform their functions efficiently; To mentor and appraise staff as needed; To ensure that all aspects of the DBA function from equipment to staff has the appropriate resilience to support the business; Manage and maintain accurate and up to date project and task lists; To review, authorise and audit tasks and duties performed by the team to ensure effectiveness and support appropriate recognition through KPIs and reporting; Responsible for defining and regular review of database standards and adherence to them; You will have a well-rounded background in the principles of software design and implementation; Proficiency in a broad array of technical skills including, operating systems, networking, databases, data structures and commercial application development; Ability to work with large complex systems and develop new enhancements; Manage and maintain all environments (Live, Test, Development etc). Skills/Experience required: 6+ years (total) software and management experience; 4 years minimum SQL Server experience with a strong relational database background; BSc degree in EE/CS/Computer Engineering required; MS degree preferred, or relevant work experience; Excellent performance tuning and optimisation skills; Solid experience with disaster recovery methods and capacity planning; Worked in a very large database environment; Some data modelling experience; SQL Server clustering; T-SQL savvy; Data warehouse experience, a plus; Windows 2003 / 2008 Server and SQL Server 2005 / 2008 experience; Knowledge and love of the game of poker and an understanding of the online poker industry are pluses.
