"Looking for a Portfolio Assurance Consultant in Gloucester, United Kingdom Nuclear New Build Project team is leading an ambitious programme to build 4 European Pressurised Water Reactors (EPRs), the first new nuclear power stations in the UK since Sizewell B (which was commissioned in 1995). We are progressing our plans to build 2 new reactors at Hinkley Point in Somerset and 2 at Sizewell in Suffolk. Delivering our key project milestones and ultimately having the first reactor being commercially operational will ensure that we all rise to the challenge.   About The Role   Located in either London or Gloucester, the Portfolio Assurance Consultant is responsible for actively assuring compliance with NNB’s standards, methods, tools & procedures for delivering Information Systems (IS) projects. The role is also responsible for the identification of learning and continuous improvement opportunities relating to project delivery. The core purpose of the role is to help projects successfully deliver change into Nuclear New Build (NNB) according to NNB’s business requirements.   You will be responsible for provide an assurance function for over 40 IT projects over a 5 year period (>£100m). This position involves regularly engaging with a wide range of stakeholders across NNB Business Architecture, EDF Group, third party delivery partners, EDF Energy CIO including senior management. The Portfolio Assurance Consultant is an experienced role and the individual is empowered to proactively identify opportunities to improve project delivery and work with project teams to implement corrective actions, under the overall guidance of NNB’s Business Engagement & Assurance Consultant. The Portfolio Assurance Consultant will be required to work closely and pro-actively with managers at all levels and across all project teams within the Nuclear New Build IS portfolio to ensure that IS projects are delivered according to agreed processes and methods. This will involve third party project teams in cases where projects are awarded to third party delivery partners.   About You   This position requires a proven candidate who is either educated to degree level or has substantial experience of delivering IT projects in a relevant industry sector (for example energy, nuclear or construction). You will be required to have significant experience of IT project delivery in a highly methodology-focused environment.
