"Seeking an Insurance New Regulations Liaison to focus on assessing all new rules, laws and regulations that will impact the company.The ideal candidate will review and stay current with all enacted and potential rules and regulations. He/she will articulate to the company and its employees how the changes will impact the firm, its business lines and daily activities. Additionally the compliance professional will interact with senior business leaders to discuss changes. The candidate should have a unique blend of skills , including understanding the regulatory environment and the ability to communicate effectively with people. Responsibilities: * Understand and stay abreast of laws, regulations and policies applicable to Group business. * Coordinate and monitor compliance with appropriate state and federal regulations. * Monitor and review regulatory and legislative changes affecting group insurance products and procedures. * Work collaboratively with operational areas to achieve compliance. * Recommend strategies to improve compliance. * Develop and execute annual compliance testing plan. * Develop and roll out compliance strategy & guidelines for withdrawal business. * Substantiate implementation of requirements impacting Group. * Coordinate document collection and review for Market Conduct Exams. * Work with the Law Department and Group operational areas to develop responses to proposed Market Conduct violations. * Work with Group operational areas and Law Department to develop corrective action plans pursuant to examiners’ report of violations. * Monitor implementation of corrective action plans through completion. * Develop and deliver status reports concerning compliance initiatives and Market Conduct Exams to senior management, including e-team. * Communicate regularly with management regarding compliance activities and priorities. * Partner with Group operational areas to analyze specific legislation and determine its impact on Group. * Manage compliance projects and implementation efforts for quality, integrity and timeliness. * Anticipate, identify and resolve issues inhibiting the attainment of project goals. * Ensure project requirements are met and deliverables are completed in a timely and quality manner. * Communicate project status to stakeholders through routine status reports and team meetings. * Serve as a regulatory compliance subject matter expert on various operational initiatives. Qualifications: * Four-year college degree and 5 – 7 years experience dealing with group insurance or regulatory compliance. * Project Management and Market Conduct experience a plus. * Well versed in group insurance products. * Knowledge of insurance company processes relating to solicitation, underwriting, issue, and administration and general knowledge of regulatory issues associated with these processes. * Well versed in compliance best practices. * Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills. * Ability to gather data, compile information, and prepare reports. * Ability to interpret and apply state statutes and regulations pertaining to complex insurance processes. * Strong project and time management skills. * Strong Excel and Powerpoint skills.
