The System Administrator will be working on VMware on a Windows platform.  This role is responsible for the design, engineering and management of processes that are the backbone for the enterprise infrastructure. This position also plays an active role in providing technical leadership for the platform overall strategic roadmap, including capacity and architecture planning as well as performance assessment and analysis.   The individual should be capable of working independently and in teams and have the ability to effectively communicate with partners to gain insight and develop solutions to meet their business needs.   The Sys Admin will install support packs, conduct upgrades, backups/recovery, system refresh and troubleshooting as well as administer databases, conduct failover of production systems, and monitor and ensure performance of the overall Network and Infrastructure.   Essential Duties and Responsibilities:  (Include the following, other duties may be assigned) Develop and maintain the strategy of the future direction of      LAN/WAN. Develop configuration and performance standards for network; and implement and monitor controls to ensure they are      maintained. Manage the deployment, monitoring, maintenance, development, upgrade and support of all IT systems, including      telecommunications, servers, PCs, operating systems, hardware, software, peripherals and Office Automation equipment. Evaluate business needs, objectives, and goals, researching available products and services and designating procedures to   best meet those needs. Develop plans for implementation of new projects, coordinating process with project leader. Provide well-defined plans including procedures, deadlines, and      accountability. Maintain awareness of changing trends and regulations which might affect the department and act on as required. Make purchasing recommendations based on bid  pricing provided; monitoring to ensure that accurate records are      maintained. Develop and maintain a Disaster Recovery Plan for network. Ensure      technology is used to provide a fast, accurate, and secure method to      access information. Ensure support is provided to "internal" staff in a professional, courteous, and timely manner. Availability 24-7.
