It's a newly created role for a Senior Legal Specialist to provide the executive leadership team with commercially astute legal advice and day to day counsel on issues of compliance, protection, and governance, together with actively supporting us analyse and exploit the commercial opportunities that we are surrounded with both in the UK and beyond. Ensuring that we conduct our day to day business in line with our guiding principles and local and European laws and payments industry rules Identifying and working with other leaders to manage current and foreseeable risks to our business by creating pragmatic commercially focused solutions to complex legal and regulatory challenges Providing legal advice and guidance on relationships with customers, suppliers, partners and any other third parties with whom we have a relationship Managing our suite of legal documents and other contractual arrangements with third parties to ensure that they are clear, reflect our risk appetite and protect our business adequately against legal risk Acting as our Data Protection Officer, which includes ensuring that their management of personal data is compliant with applicable local and European data protection law Working alongside our heads of all departments to ensure we remain compliant with evolving legislations which directly impacts the responsibilities that fall within their area Acting as a key member of our Risk Committee, actively contributing to our risk strategy and proactively supporting and co-ordinating with other Group Risk teams as appropriate.
