Post Resume -Get Paid by Employers at Resumark .com Subject: I have a great job opportunity available - it's a great place to work - check out this opening Bahari Naresh posted a job: I have a great job opportunity available - it's a great place to work - check out this opening "Job: Cost Control Specialist in Calgary, AB Canada Position Title - Cost Control Specialist Location: Calgary, AB Type: – Contract             Job Description: The Cost Specialist reports and is accountable to the Project Controls Supervisor/Coordinator to develop, maintain and continuously improve project cost control, progress and performance monitoring systems to standards as established in the Project Execution Plan and the Project Controls Management Plan. Project assignments will be coordinated through, and monitored by the Project Controls Supervisor/Coordinator or Manager. Working with the Engineering houses and the Contractors, intervene and provide direction in processes and business practices to ensure overall project estimating, cost control, progress and performance measurement, and forecasting objectives are achieved. Specifically assist in managing the cost control process, ensuring that trends raised are being evaluated and processed consistent with the change management process for trends impacting the project budget and forecasts. Ensure that the process is timely and effective. Responsibilities: The prime challenge of this role is the timely delivery of cost control services necessary to support the project cost, cash flow and schedule goals, in a manner which optimizes the use of resources. In executing this challenge the Cost Specialist will: Assist the Project Management Team in the preparation of the appropriation for the project and control cash spending to the appropriated funding of the project. Ensure that the appropriate control systems are implemented for a project as outlined in the Project Execution Plan and the Project Control Management Plan before execution of any phase of a project and that all parties to a project have clearly defined and understand the deliverables. Direct less experienced Cost Analysts and Project Control Technicians in the execution of their duties, including providing technical guidance and training. Use computer aided project cost control/ project control tools to advantage in achieving the necessary degree of detail to meet all established or future standards. Use personal experience in conjunction with standards to deliver and maintain a project budgets and forecasts that are accurate, timely, clear, exploits opportunities and mitigates risks in a manner which promotes the transfer of this knowledge and experience to more junior team members and contractors. This especially important in consideration of safety and operating constraints. Recommend improvements to all project “control” systems in SPIM, procedures and practices as opportunities occur. Maintains project cost control, progress and performance monitoring and reporting procedures and guidelines for the project. Employ various NWR approved software programs and networks to interface and communicate with all area personnel. Maintain a high level of technical expertise in these tools.
