Production Technician - Senior in Fletcher, NC The Production Technician both operates production equipment and provides technical support to help ensure the daily manufacturing effectiveness of multiple production areas or processes in:  Assembly, Machining, and Molding.   This position helps achieve the daily assignments by helping prepare the production area; assisting with set-up, changeovers, and validation to ensure that quality objectives are met. Ability to perform all production operator functions. Help provide training for production operators. Assist with problem solving for both equipment and process issues.  Performs maintenance and PM’s on equipment as scheduled. Assumes production leader role in their absence.   Employee Staffing and Development  Quality Maintain compliance with Production Start-ups, Process Set-up & Validation, Material Identification, Control Plans, Nonconforming Material & Change Notice.  Process and Material Control Production Cost Help reduce cost with a continuous focus on the elimination of waste and improved department management. Help review and analyze data to drive continuous improvement. Target improvements in direct and indirect labor, scrap, rework, and tooling expenses Inventory Accuracy Help maintain control, identification, and reporting of inventory in SAP.  Monitors the following: Production - Personal production operation efficiency, Units per Hour, Setup and Changeover Efficiency, Quality Rate,  Internal – EPV completion rate, scrap cost, internal PPM, Customer – customer incidents, customer PPM Cost – productivity cost savings Skill and Knowledge Requirements to Enter Position: w  Technical Associates degree or equivalent manufacturing experience. w  Certified Six Sigma White Belt, preferred. w  Good safety and attendance record with no performance issues. w  Strong proficiency in computers, Microsoft Office Software, preferred. w  Thorough knowledge of production components and processes. w  Basic OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness), OPM (Operator Preventive Maintenance) and Problem Solving Techniques, preferred. w  Good manual dexterity skills and be able to lift 50 pounds w  Ability to use gages w  Ability to perform OPM(Operator Preventive Maintenance) tasks   Development Skills and/or Training to be provided after Entering Position: w   Knowledge of PFMEAs and Quality Planning. w  Advanced OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness), OPM (Operator Preventive Maintenance) and problem solving techniques.   · The position is responsible for a great deal of self-driven, proactive work.
