Engineer -Supplier Quality Assurance in Asheville, NC Supports process improvement and problem-solving efforts with focus on protecting and improving product quality.Must have demonstrated knowledge of advanced quality planning, inspection equipment and techniques, root cause failure analysis, capability studies, statistical distributions, machine (metalworking) and assembly processes, problem solving, team facilitation, geometric dimensioning and tolerancing, and Computer Aided Drafting (CAD).   Oversees integrity of product quality for assigned area through participation as integral part of Quality / Purchasing team.   Provides expert analysis, guidance and support to Production in Process Improvement activities, including effective use of Problem-Solving tools / techniques and statistical analysis.   Is responsible for New Product Qualification, and verification of changes to current product.   Through the application of APQP, supports the internal and external customers in New Product Introduction.   Ensures that internal customer needs for Control Systems are met in a timely and functional manner.   Results for this position will be measured by improvements to Supplier PPM rates.   Optimizes process capability on significant characteristics through effective application of statistical analysis techniques and training of Suppliers in Problem-Solving.   Applies knowledge of Inspection Equipment and Techniques to provide timely data usable for informed decision-making.     QUALIFICATIONS: Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical or Industrial Engineering.   Requires at least three years of Manufacturing Engineering /Quality Assurance experience in a metalworking environment.     Must have demonstrated knowledge of advanced quality planning, inspection equipment and techniques, root cause failure analysis, capability studies, statistical distributions, machine (metalworking) and assembly processes, problem solving, team facilitation, geometric dimensioning and tolerancing, and Computer Aided Drafting (CAD).   Knowledge of TS16949 required.   At least 1 year of experience with Supplier Development required.   Proficiency with Microsoft office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook) is required.
