The Role We are seeking an IP specialist to support all divisions of the Group. Based at GKN’s HQ in Redditch, this role covers a wide range of IP matters including: advising, negotiating and drafting key development / collaboration agreements, R&D contracts, teaming agreements, Trade Mark licenses and NDA’s; governing the creation / ownership, use and confidentiality of Group IP and supporting major commercial and corporate transactions. The role will also require advising on the legal aspects of Export Control, undertaking risk assessments, advising on suspected violations or infringements and helping to ensure that regulations are complied with. Experience You must have a first class academic and legal background and exceptional commercial acumen. An in-depth knowledge of IP law in the UK and EC and experience (at a major law firm or in-house) of managing legal risk in a highly commercial context are also essential. You must have the capability and interpersonal skills to establish yourself as a key member of the legal function and as a trusted adviser to the commercial teams and be innovative and robust in your approach.
