"Our client is seeking a qualified lawyer with experience of drafting a range of complex engineering and commercial contracts to join their large legal team for a period of 12 – 18 months. The role will support the business during a key tender process. The role will focus on drafting and negotiating the terms of the business’ key delivery contracts, ensuring they adhere to business requirements whilst also ensuring compliance with UK and EU Competition law. Main duties will include: • Supporting the projects team with completing the tender process for all key delivery contracts • Using NEC engineering contracts as a basis, drafting commercial contracts for the above, ensuring that the requirements of the company’s financial covenants are met • Supporting the tender process and providing procurement advice • Leading contractual negotiations and handling subsequent re-drafting of agreements • Developing and drafting standard NEC Contract amendments to be used across various contracting routes • Minimising legal risk with regards to contractual, corporate, IPR and competition matters • Drafting and negotiating a range of other commercial agreements where required. The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of 5 years’ relevant experience handling a range of commercial and engineering contracts with excellent working knowledge general construction and NEC contracts. You will possess the ability to work commercially and closely with internal colleagues, along with a pragmatic approach and an emphasis on delivering effective customer service.
