Managing and Developing Staff | § Working closely with stakeholders, to shape and deliver business plan activity and objectives for the Aerospace sector in India, with the aim of improving UK business performance in these sectors and growing Indian investment in the UK. § Lead on strategy for developing the Aerospace Sector in India and Providing strategic input to the Automotive, Engineering and Infrastructure Sector Leads on the opportunities in Karnataka. § Line Manage at least 1 member of team. |
Delivering Results | § Lead the aerospace sector for India and be responsible for achieving corporate targets. § Lead on bespoke chargeable market research reports commissioned by UK aerospace companies. § Lead on the Global Value Chain Programme for the aerospace sector. § Identifying business opportunities and promoting both UK capabilities to Indian companies and the UK as a preferred destination for inward investment. § Regularly reporting and reviewing the outcomes of the above activities and considering where changes of direction or focus may be required to better meet the demands of the customer for the Aerospace, Automotive and Engineering sectors. § Handling routine enquiries (non- chargeable enquiries) from local and British businesses. Undertake non-priority sector market research if assigned. Visit companies in these sectors. § Collect and collate the database in these sectors. |
Managing External Relationships | § Giving timely and accurate advice to customers on opportunities India and the strengths of the UK’s aerospace, automotive and engineering sectors. § Support the post in organising trade fairs/inward and outward missions and programmes for visiting UK VIPs, senior officials and businesspeople. § Building and using an effective network of contacts within the commercial and scientific community and within government to assist all of the above. This would also include the strategic use of allocated marketing budgets, visits to companies and business events in Karnataka or across India, including trade fairs (facilitating knowledge acquisition and network building) and in the UK on business development visits. |

Some knowledge of Kannada would be an advantage. Must have strong negotiation and presentation skills. |
Learning & Development | § Have a sound understanding of the business culture in India (useful though not essential, experience of doing business in Karnataka) and a thorough understanding of international marketing principles and practices. |

§ Essential on arrival: Be a graduate with at least 5-7 years of relevant business/marketing experience (candidates without the required academic qualifications but with exceptional practical experience will be considered). An MBA qualification from a premier institution would be advantageous. |

6. The monthly salary range for this position is from Rs 57,932 - Rs 86,899 (depending upon qualification and experience of the candidate) together with a benefits package.
· 12% PF, 6% Special allowance
· 21 days annual leave and in addition study, maternity/paternity and special leave in agreement with their line manager and taking into account the various business needs.
· Medical benefits scheme that will include medical expenses and hospitalisation cover for self, partner and children and annual (pro-rata) medical domiciliary allowance.
