Everything you do has direct impact on more than half of the Dutch population. Certainly from the perspective of the user, frontend is the most important aspect. In the function of Frontend Developer you work closely with product managers, developers and designers. Responsibilities • Write front-end code in PHP, Smarty, HTML/CSS, and Javascript • Implement new features and optimize existing ones using our design patterns • Work closely with, and incorporate feedback from, product management, interaction designers, and core developers • Identify and address performance bottlenecks • Rapidly fix bugs and solve problems • Build efficient and reusable front-end abstractions and systems • Pro-actively look for ways to make Hyves better Qualifications • Demonstrable experience building high-traffic web sites and applications • Expert Javascript/HTML/CSS coding skills • Disciplined approach to testing and quality assurance • Strong command of web standards, CSS-based design, cross-browser compatibility • Good understanding of web technologies (client-server architecture, web standards) • Healthy dose of pragmatism: "being smart, getting things done" • Great written communication and documentation abilities Desired Skills • Good understanding of interaction design, usability and visual design is a pré • Knowledge of Photoshop, PHP, MySQL • Familiarity with Unix/Linux • Active user of Hyves Moving to the Netherlands?
